Can I pay property taxes by credit card?
Yes, there will be a credit card processing fee for any credit/debit card transactions.
Does the Village have a rental property inspection ordinance?
Yes. This is administered by the Village Building Inspector. Please contact the Village Hall during office hours for specific requirements.
Who handles barking dog complaints?

Does the Village operate a public library?
No, but the Cass District Library is located in the Village limits at 319 M-62. They can be contacted at: 269-445-3400.

Cass District Library normal hours of operation are:

Monday thru Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Who do I call to report problems with municipal water or sewer?
During business hours, please call the Village Hall at 269-445-8648 to report problems with the water or sewer. To report problems after normal business hours, please call the Cass County Sheriff’s Department at 269-445-8644. They will contact our DPW to report an emergency situation.
Who do I call to report storm damage, such as downed trees and powerlines?
9-1-1 should be your first call if it is an emergency. If you know which utilities are affected, you should contact the utility next.

Who do I call to report an ordinance violation?
You should call the Village Hall during office hours. A complaint will be taken. We will need your name and contact information but your identity will not be disclosed.
How do I report a street light that is not working?
It helps if you can provide us with the pole tag number, usually found on either a metal plate or a yellow sign with black letters and numbers. This makes it very easy to report. If a tag is missing, then be as specific as possible.
Who can I call with complaints about problems with streets, roads and sidewalks?
Please call the Village Hall during office hours at 445-8648. Although most of the roads within the Village limits are the responsibility of the DPW, some roads, such as M-60 and M-62 are maintained by MDOT. We will take the complaint and be sure that the proepr agency gets contacted regarding your concerns.
We are often asked whether a permit is required to construct a swimming pool.
The answer is yes, with certain exceptions as noted here: Portable/inflatable pools designed to contain water at a depth of less than two feet would generally be exempted from a permit requirement.

Swimming pool means an artificial or semi-artificial basin or tank, including all appurtenant equipment, structures and facilities, for the purpose of impounding water to a depth of more than two (2’) feet for the immersion or partial immersion of humans.
